Key Zero Injury Principles
The Zero Injury Institute provides resources, education and training and is the only source from which one can obtain “Certification in the Principles of Zero Injury.”
Our certification is in the form of on-line eLearning modules zero injury culture building knowledge-based content. When that knowledge is applied effectively it leads to reduced at-risk behavior on the part of all employees. This reduced at-risk behavior results in decreasing injury frequency. As injuries decrease new records of injury free hours worked add up, frequently reaching 1,000,000 hours injury free.
Why the term “Zero Injury” rather than zero Incidents or Zero Accidents? We have found that if safety in the workplace is kept in the personal vein it has a better response from the employee who sees it as a personal “take home” benefit from being and working safe.
To perform at the zero injury level workers will need more than just a logo to base their buy-in on. Employees need to know the critical elements about the zero injury concept and its’ origins and bed-rock foundational logic as much as employers do.
