Mr. Ghormley is Zero Injury Certified through the Zero Injury Institute and through the National Center for Construction Education and Research as a Master Trainer in Construction Safety and as a Construction Site Safety Technician.

 

Mr. Ghormley has served as Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston in the Department of Construction Management.

 

As Corporate Safety Director has received the following honors and awards:

  • Named as the first recipient of the “Safety Manager of the Year” award presented by the Texas Safety Association

  • Received the Chairman’s Award 5 times, from the Texas Safety Association for Outstanding Safety Record in the Southwest and Gulf Coast Area

  • Received the Houston Business Roundtable Safety Excellence Grand Award for Outstanding On-The-Job Safety Performance 4 times

  • Received the National Conference of Business Roundtable Construction Industry Safety Excellence (CISE) Award, 1990, 1993 and 1997.

  • ABC National Safety Award Winner, 1998 and 1999.

  • Construction User’s Round Table (CURT) National Safety Award, 2001

 

Career highlights:

  • Achieved over 25,000,000 Safe Work Hours (without a lost day injury), 1996- 2002.

  • Maintained EMR at or below 0.20 for six years (1996 – 2001).

  • Three time nominee for Safety Professional of the Year (SPY) by American Society of Safety Engineers.

  • Received Lifetime Safety Achievement Award, 2012 by Houston Business Roundtable.
